Journey To The End Of The Night – Chicagø 2009
[about . rules . trophies . organizers . poster]
GAME DETAILS Journey To The End Of The Night is a chase game played across an entire city. It is not unlike a foot race mixed with a scavenger hunt and a game of tag. The course will be approximately 6.5 miles, as the crow flies, and may take 2 to 5 hours to complete (accounting for interference). The finish line will be within 1 mile of a CTA station. Players will congregate at the corner of Columbus and Jackson, where a mediator will take down their name.
Agents will be in disguise at the five checkpoints around the city, waiting to sign players’ manifests as they arrive. At precisely 7PM, a mediator will give a verbal description of the Agents at the first checkpoint, and so the game begins.
Awards, light refreshments, and stories will be presented at the finish line. The finish line location will be outside the Co-Prosperity Sphere in Bridgeport - there will be a small cover charge to enter the C-PS, if you choose to end your night there. This year, Journey Chicagø will be run concurrently with Journey DC. This means that when the whistle blows at Columbus and Jackson in Chicago, a whistle is blowing in DuPont Circle in Washington DC. Players should expect inter-city surprises along the Chicago route. |

PLAYER INSTRUCTIONS
At each checkpoint you must find an Agent to sign your manifest. These Agents will instruct you on how to identify the Agent at the next checkpoint. If you are caught (tagged), remove your Blue ribbon and give it to the Chaser who got you. Put on your Red ribbon. Your goal now is to catch other players. |
